about the cairns garden club

We meet on the third Saturday of each month between February and November. During the wet season of February, March and April the meetings are indoors at the Brinsmead Community Centre on Loridan Drive, Bella Vista; and in the drier months we travel to various outdoor venues, members’ gardens, and places of interest.  There are at least two subsidised bus trips every year, and other social events

There is an interesting guest speaker at every meeting and in the hall these talks are frequently illustrated with a slide show of the

speaker’s chosen topic.  At each meeting there is a raffle table, a horticultural competition and Show & Tell where members are invited to bring along interesting, unusual or problem plants and articles for discussion.

The annual subscription is $15 commencing on 1 July each year.

We also have a modern reference library with the emphasis on gardening in the tropics.  These books are available to financial members to borrow for one month free of charge.

We also enjoy afternoon tea, fun and good fellowship.  New members and visitors are always very welcome at our meetings.
