Cairns Garden Club flower display at the Cairns Show

Cairns Show

The Cairns Show is always held on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
of the third week in July. Cairns Garden Club is responsible for the
Cut Flowers, Cut Foliage and Pot Culture in the Horticultural
Pavillion.

Cairns and surrounding residents are encouraged to support the show by entering their plants into these three competitions and in doing so create

a lovely display for Show Week.

Entry forms can be downloaded here or go to www.cairnsshow.com.au

Travis Teske, a member of the club, is the Chief Steward of the Cut Flowers, Cut Shrubs and Pot Culture of the Horticultural section of the show. He has a group of volunteers to help fill bottles, organize and record entries, record points for the judges and tally points and write certificates for the winners and placegetters.

These activities take place in the 3 days leading up to the show and rely on club members to volunteer their time and energy. Many club members also enter some of the horticultural sections and have achieved considerable success.
